Glenn Gutnayer is a second generation home builder. After working for many years with his father, the well known Chicago architect and builder Josef Marion Gutnayer, Glenn Gutnayer founded his residential construction and development business in 1994.

In 2009 Glenn Gutnayer Construction was the builder and developer of the “Home of Distinction-Chicago.” The project was promoted by the Coldwell Banker Real Estate Company as their “Residence of the Year” for Chicago’s North Shore.

In 2007 Glenn Gutnayer Construction received awards for “Best of New Construction” by the historic preservation committees of Highland Park and Glencoe Illinois for two homes in their communities. In 2005 Glenn Gutnayer Construction was awarded “Best of New Construction” by the Glencoe Illinois Historic Preservation Commission.

 “For our area, we build homes that are historically correct in design characteristics and in materials. We may use aged materials like reclaimed brick and slate roofs so that the home looks like it was built in the 1940’s. This allows the house to blend seamlessly into the neighborhood. We select these aged materials because they have a patina and character that can not be bought today” - Glenn Gutnayer
